As host of the Travel Channel's popular shows Man v. Food and Man v. Food Nation, Adam Richman has developed a nearly encyclopedic knowledge of mouth-watering local specialties across the country. Growing up in the food Mecca of New York City, Adam Richman began his love affair with food early on, sampling all of the diverse culinary specialties The Big Apple had to offer. From samosas to sushi, even at a young age, Adam had a desire to taste it all. Adam was working his way through college, he took every restaurant job he could get. He learned the ropes of the restaurant business while being mentored in some of the East Coasts' best food joints and began a food journal to document the standout food establishments he encountered. His first book, America the Edible, A Hungry History from Sea to Dining Sea, revisits some of Adam's favorite food places, recalling memorable meals and revealing why we eat what we eat throughout the US.
